She saw him again. After years of thinking he was gone, he returns, not knowing who she was. Nonetheless he would flock to her, following and pursuing her. Calling for her.

“You feel the connection, right?” he would say. She always tried to leave. “It’ll only hurt more if you go,” but she still does. This conversation always goes the same. He doesn’t remember it. He never does.

Soulmates they called it. She could see why so many people were entranced when they would meet theirs. She also knew it was a matter of time until he came back. She tries to put if off as long as she can, but the pain eats at her insides. She had to get rid of him again.

He was her soulmate, no doubt or question about it. He was also in the way. Which was why he had to die.
