According to the official website, the School of Visual Arts was founded in 1947 in Manhattan, New York and offers 11 undergraduate and 22 graduate degree programs. The college has been praised for how talented the students are and how successful they turn out to be in their various career fields. One recent example is Rebecca Sugar, who went on to create a very popular show known as Steven Universe which airs on Cartoon Network. The college has been known to show creativity that isn’t found anywhere else. It can only be found in the urban setting of Manhattan.

The School of the Visual Arts main building is located on East 23rd Street in Manhattan, New York.

SAT & Admissions

According to the College SVA is rather easy to get into. It has a 75% acceptance rate, with 2,748 out of 3,648 being chosen to enter last year alone. The SAT scores needed to have an average chance of entering are 1020 to 1155. Women have also seem to find more interest in this college with 2,592 applying compared to 1056 men. As stated from the official website of SVA, all you have to do is select your strongest pieces of artwork and submit them  in accordance with the criteria detailed in the portfolio. Interested in film? SVA has that, too! As explained on their official website, you must send a two part essay about a film by mail or email. Writing isn’t your thing? You also have
the choice of sending your strongest film project to satisfy the
portfolio requirement.

Your statement of intent needs to be at least five hundred words long, but is not limited to a specific theme or question. You can write anything about you or whatever you want to do with your time in SVA!
