On Jan. 8, 2024, leaders from the New York State Assembly held their first day in legislative session. For the past 21 years, NYS Assemblyman Phil Ramos has invited leaders from all across long island to join him on this special and memorable day of session and a tour of the U.S. Capitol.
This year, four different organizations involving students were invited, including members of My Brothers Keeper, Girl’s Inc., JROTC, and Student Advocates of Long Island. Community Leaders were also invited like Pilar Moya from Housing Help Inc. and Serena Liguori from New Hour for Women and Children.
