He’s 6’5, handsome and Australian. Gentlemen, hide your significant others, because this actor is rising to the top and we don’t think he’s ever coming down. With his brand new movie “Saltburn,” it seems that Jacob Elordi has all the girls turned right toward his direction.
This isn’t Elordi’s first big break in the Hollywood industry; Jacob has been in 16 other movies. Whether it be an infamous rom-com like “The Kissing Booth,” fan-favorite drama “Euphoria,” or romantic musicals like “Priscilla,” we’re sure Jacob Elordi has done it all.
That’s why 2024 couldn’t have started off in a better way than with everyone’s favorite internet crush starring in yet another highly popular film. If you weren’t satisfied seeing him star in the movie “Priscilla,” then be prepared to be astonished by this man’s presence in his newest project.
Although Elordi is finally receiving recognition for his incredible acting abilities, every actor must get their start somewhere. According to The Movie Database, Jacob Elordis first Hollywood movie he was ever starred in was Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, where he was just an extra. However, his first real acting role was on the Australian film, “Swinging Safari,” where he played the role of Rooster.
While Jacob has starred in many different movies and television shows, there’s always an audience who prefers one over the other. Taking the lead right now is his newest production,”Saltburn,” a comedy/ thriller that has people on the edge of their seats. Coming in hot in second place is the all-time favorite drama “Euphoria,” where you won’t know what’s going to happen next.
“My favorite show he’s been in is ‘Euphoria.’ I don’t like his character but it’s different to other people,” says Ana Montano, a senior.
Although his newest film “Saltburn” is his most popular right now, some may say that it wasn’t his best film yet.
“It wasn’t bad, but it was surprising. It wasn’t what I expected,” says Natalia Alvarez, a senior.
In “Saltburn,” Elordi portrays Felix Catton alongside Oliver Quick, who is played by Barry Keoghan. When Felix is distraught about Oliver’s family situation (his father dies of a drug overdose and he doesn’t want to return his mother calls for that reason), Felix invites him to his family’s estate back in Saltburn. From there, things quickly begin to derail.
According to Wesley Morris’s review published in the New York Times, “The movie is failing as a good work of trash. I didn’t laugh or gape. I just sat there watching an actor do his damnedest to save the rest of the movie before it heads down the drain.”
Arguably, some may not enjoy what others do. But it’s important to note that the actors work hard to make these movies happen, and for that, they deserve credit.
Even though Jacob Elordi’s popularity continues to rise, actors like Austin Butler, starring in the new movie “Masters of the Air,” and Cillian Murph,y starring in the movie “Oppenheimer,” are definitely giving him a run for his money. Who will be next?
