I’m graduating this year, and all I can think about is life after high school and it scares me sometimes. I look back at all my achievements and feel content about it. I wish I could have joined sports and more clubs, but I did not. I felt it was a burden for my parents to have to pick me up every day after school or most days of the week, and even to bring me to and from certain events that I could have participated in as well.
Joining a production from the Brentwood High School Drama Club is one of the greatest things I have done. It was one of the most memorable experiences I have had in all the years I have been in school. It’s not just about talent and shining on stage but all the experiences and friendships you get from it.
My advice I give to the younger students is to enjoy their high school years because once you know it, you’ll be graduating like me. All these years will just be a memory once you get to graduation and it’s sad to think about how it’s all over. So, make these years count and join activities, after school clubs and participate in drama productions.
I will miss so much from this school. It’s the little things I’ve done here that will stay with me forever. I will miss seeing all the familiar faces I see every day, I will miss seeing and talking to my friends, I will miss walking these school hallways, sitting a desks, I will miss having to rush from Sonderling to Ross just to get to class on time and not get caught in random hall sweeps. I will even miss the school lunch ladies I’ve became close with.
We take all the special things for granted when we are in school, and we don’t realize that they are some of the best things about high school. The sad part is you don’t realize how special it is until you don’t have it anymore. My senior year went by too quickly.
