The Long Island Fall Festival night one was an absolute blast. This extravagant, lively, annual festival takes place in Heckscher Park, Huntington, New York.
This Fall Festival has been attracting large crowds for over 30 years. Filled with carnival games such as ring toss, darts, basketball, a wide variety of food trucks, delicious sweet treats, incredible live performances, and numerous carnival rides to let the kiddos run wild, this festival is truly one of the greatest and is fun for all ages.

Apart from the incredible carnival rides and the delicious food, the best part of the night was the phenomenal performance put on by O El Amor.
O El Amor has been putting on sensational performances for decades, all around Long Island. O El Amor is comprised of astonishing guitarist Jesus Mana Cerveza Jr., groovy bassist, Bongo El Mongo, proficient drummer, Don Corazon, and last but not least, the man who can sing anything from Madonna to David Bowie without missing a beat, lead singer, Disco Goya.

When asked what his favorite part of the festival was, guitarist Mickey Lyxx said that it was “

Definitely the music.” Lyxx was then asked, “What’s so great about the music?” to which he responded with great enthusiasm, “O El Amor, that’s what’s so good about it!”
The members of O El Amor hide their true identities underneath masks. According to a YouTube video entitled “The Tale of O El Amor,” this is because “after many years of short-lived relationships…the broken hearts of O El Amor swore to disguise their faces in shame and never to remove their masks…no one knows the true identities…” The Masked Lovers’ rendition of “Dress You Up” by Madonna, “Maneater” by Hall & Oates, “Bad Mama Jama” by Carl Carlton, “Into the Night” by Benny Mardones and hundreds of more, make everyone want to sing and dance like there’s no tomorrow. Their presence is immaculate, and once you see them play, you’re automatically hooked.

As the last drum fills and final guitar notes rang out, the crowd chanted for the band to play one more song. The Masked Lovers are truly one of the greatest cover bands on Long Island, and their “lovers and stalkers” just can’t seem to get enough of them. Their performance was the perfect way to end night one of the annual Huntington Fall Festival.
