Sonnet: Nonsensical Dreams
January 8, 2020
The sea engulfed me, black began to fill
My vision, water came throughout my throat
It killed what air remained inside, until
My heart gave out and body became bloat.
I ate some tea and drank some bread, with rats
On shrooms, with vests and trinkets built in wood.
One pal then claimed to be king of hats,
“Forevermore, we dine in cheese with hoods!”
Monkeys in suits and ties, threw paper plane
Into a makeshift effigy of fruit.
My mother cried some paint that formed into lanes,
Which lead a train to hungry packs of newts.
I pour myself a cup of joe with cream,
My mind still lost from dark and silly dreams.
